But really, who doesn't multitask. There's always going to be a million thoughts going through our heads, and some of them will have to be ignored. And of course, the tasks we focus on are the ones we either want to do or have to do. Surfing the web for a new pair of shoes, working on your project due tomorrow... Although there can be a lot of things on that list, writing normally isn't one of them, normally because there are SO many valid excuses as to why you can't write.
❉You're too tired
❉You can't think of anything to write
❉You can do better things
❉Why would writing even be worth it?
All these excuses are totally typical, yet they can all be dismissed so that you do have time to write. I find that if I actually start writing, I'll forget about my excuses and just write. I also find that closing all other tabs on your computer (if you're typing your story) or going somewhere quiet (if you're handwriting your story or typing it) helps me to write as much as I can.
Because we all get so distracted, there has got to be one time when you procrastinated when you shouldn't have. With writing something, buying something, doing something... What did you procrastinate on doing?
My answer: Writing this blog post. I kept getting distracted :) Oops...
