It doesn't matter who you are, if you live in the United States you are in some way, some how, going to do something special for the holiday season.
Along with the holidays, however, comes not only holiday joy but also holiday stress. It comes and goes, but stress is ever present in the holiday season. I know that being around your family can be difficult on a normal day, but with more people, issues can pop up everywhere. It's almost funny how something that wouldn't even be of notice normally is inflated into a big problem when there's other people involved.
One way I get rid of the stress is by going off, by myself, and finding a good book to read. I find that even if the characters in the book are really stressed out too or in trouble, it's nice to get away from your own troubles. Sometimes I even make myself feel better by reading about others because it makes me feel like my situation isn't as bad as I think it is.
Another way to bring hope is by giving. I know it sounds really cheesy, but it's totally true that when you help people, you feel accomplished and happy. Try buying a nice gift for someone who will really appreciate it. Most importanlty, make yourself happy, and maybe even buy yourself something you want. And then you'll give yourself and others some holiday hope!
