I read on another blog about how hard it is to be published (check out the article from "Jeff Goins Writer" here, it's really interesting) and the post got me thinking about how I haven't actually done anything to accomplish my this.
Part of the problem is that I don't set a writing schedule. I literally write when I have time and ideas, which probably isn't the best habit. I don't add to my stories very often, and I have multiple stories that I write. This doesn't put me very far and I often forget about side plots or details after I haven't worked on a story for a while.
I need to set goals. I really should have higher expectations for how much I write and I need to focus on only one of my story's (I have many). I think that the best way to accomplish things is to set goals and work really hard to complete them. If I have a goal to write one chapter a week, for example, I will have a completed story faster than if I just wrote whenever I felt like it like I do now.
I encourage everyone to set goals. I'm going to try to start forming goals, and actually working hard to complete them. Because, even though it may be hard to complete these goals, I'm going to get so much further if I can just try to complete them.
What is your goal? Do you have something you really want to do but never get around to it? Tell me in your comment below!
My Answer: Post on this blog at least once a week, maybe twice :)
